Sorting Data

Microsoft Access allows you to sort your database by any field in either ascending or descending order. Why is this important? You may need to sort by a particular field to determine an answer to a question, or to find a trend in your data. So let's begin.

Open Table

Click


    Access displays the Table window in a
    datasheet view.

Sort Records Ascending by One Field

Click Candy under the Dept Field

Click the Sort Ascending button


    Access immediately sorts the records in your table in ascending order by department.
